UNLIKE ART.

 ​I am an Artist, Creator, and Visionary, who lives and creates in Richmond, Virginia. My artistic works take on various forms from digital to traditional as I have been a freelance artist for over 20 years.

I established an early interest in art as a child. I would sketch and doodle in small notebooks and on my paper bag covered textbooks. I would also trace my favorite characters from coloring books and books I checked out at the library. When I was assigned projects in school, I would always make or draw something. I had to have the best project in class.  I took my first art course my senior year in high school. Shortly thereafter I was inducted into the National Arts Honor Society. That one class, my senior year, led me to focus on art as a profession.  I was formally taught and educated at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Scientific and Medical Illustration in 2004. 

At VCU, I developed my dry brush painting style and studied all of the well-known artists.  My favorite being Norman Rockwell.  Throughout the years, I’ve won numerous awards at diverse events from fine arts competitions to chalk art festivals.  I have exhibited my work not only locally, but nationally as well. 

I appreciate all styles of art and do not limit my creativity which frees me to do different projects in the field of art. My main focus is the fine art of acrylic painting with a more photorealistic style.  I use an assortment of mediums and sub-straights. My preferred medium in painting is acrylic on canvas. Some of the many other mediums I use are markers, graphite, color pencils, water color, and charcoal. If you happen to see one of my pieces, don’t forget to look for the lace. I like to add subtle hints of lace in all of my painted works. My digital portfolio consists of commercial graphic designs, hundreds of logos, t-shift designs, stickers and posters.  I also design flyers, party invitations, and more.
